There are different types of gases used in an air conditioner, it depends upon your machine. Your AC could use R-22, R-32 or R-410A. Now a days R-410A is widely used in air conditioner.

That completely depends upon your AC, it could use anywhere between 600 grams to 2000 grams.

Majorly you can categorize into 3 parts. Window AC, Split AC and portable AC are widely used in India. Each of them have their own advantages and disadvantages. Let’s discuss each one them separately.

• Window AC: Window AC is comparatively cheaper in price and has lower maintenance cost as compared to split AC. You will generally find that cost of window AC is 30% less than that of split AC. Most common problem in ACs is leakage of gas, in spilt AC there 2 units indoor and outdoor but in window AC there is only 1 unit. More over split AC units are connected via gas pipes and that could also have a leakage.
• Split AC: In many location it is not feasible to use window AC but spilt AC can work very easily in those places as well. Split AC may not work in a place where distance between indoor and outdoor is on the higher side.
• Portable AC: Portable AC can be used anywhere, it is movable like an air cooler but it is way more expensive than split and window AC.
